Laura B. Schiller is a Shareholder in the Trusts & Estates team at Wilentz, Goldman & Spitzer, P.A., based in the firm's Woodbridge office. Laura provides comprehensive legal counsel to clients seeking to protect and transfer their wealth efficiently. Her practice also extends to elder law and special needs planning where she provides advice in furtherance of clients' long-term goals and preservation of family interests.
Laura assists clients with creating and managing estate plans, including drafting wills, living wills, powers of attorney, and various types of trusts such as Life Insurance Trusts, Grantor Retained Annuity Trusts, Spousal Lifetime Access Trusts, and Sales Transactions to Intentionally Defective Grantor Trusts. She prepares related documents for both simple and complex estate planning needs. Her experience spans representing individuals and families with wealth ranging from moderate to significant, as well as businesses, private foundations, and public charities, focusing on wealth preservation and succession planning.
Prior to joining Wilentz, Laura served as counsel at a leading trusts and estates boutique law firm in New Jersey, where she specialized in estates, tax, and corporate law.
Laura graduated magna cum laude with her Bachelor's degree from Washington University in St. Louis. She earned her J.D. and LL.M. degrees from New York University, graduating magna cum laude and was a member of the Order of the Coif. Laura is an active member of the New Jersey State Bar Association and the Middlesex County Bar Association.
