James A. Hicks is a seasoned civil trial attorney with more than 30 years of experience advocating for the rights of injured workers and workers diagnosed with occupational illnesses.
Since 2003, the Supreme Court of New Jersey has certified Mr. Hicks as a Workers’ Compensation Law Attorney, a designation held by less than 2% of licensed attorneys in New Jersey. With a practice dedicated to workers’ compensation law, Mr. Hicks has the experience, knowledge and skills to get injured workers the benefits they deserve. Mr. Hicks has successfully represented hundreds of injured workers or workers diagnosed with occupational illnesses in Middlesex County and throughout New Jersey in his many years of practice.
Results achieved in prior matters are not meant to be a guarantee of success as the facts and legal circumstances vary from matter to matter.
Mr. Hicks manages the claims process from start to finish, regularly appearing before the Division of Workers’ Compensation of the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development on behalf of petitioners, working with employers and insurers to help his clients navigate the claims process.
Mr. Hicks is an active member of the Workers’ Compensation Section of the New Jersey Association for Justice and the Workers’ Compensation Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association. Earlier in his career, he served on the Technology Committee of the New Jersey State Bar Association, Division of Workers’ Compensation. He also served on the New Jersey Division of Workers’ Compensation COURTS Online Project Team, when New Jersey became one of the first states in the nation to have a fully automated workers’ compensation case management and litigation system.
