John D. Barry is Counsel in the Health Law and Corporate practice groups at Wilentz, Goldman & Spitzer, P.A. John represents a variety of healthcare providers, including hospitals, physician groups, ambulatory care facilities, skilled nursing facilities and various other healthcare facilities and businesses, in corporate, transactional and regulatory compliance matters.

John advises on acquisitions, joint ventures and affiliations of both for-profit and non-profit organizations. In particular, John has significant experience in advising healthcare providers and investors in structuring private equity funded joint ventures. John also assists healthcare entities with their general contracting and corporate governance needs. 

Additionally, John provides counsel on federal and state health care fraud and abuse laws, including the Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, Civil Monetary Penalties Law and various state analogs. He has worked extensively on issues nationwide involving the corporate practice of medicine (CPOM), including structure and fee arrangements. He also assists healthcare providers with creation of compliance plans and related internal policies and procedures, with a focus on marketing and fee arrangements.

Prior to joining Wilentz, Goldman & Spitzer, P.A., John worked at a national law firm focused on healthcare law. He earned his law degree from Seton Hall University School of Law while concentrating in Health Law, and received the ABA Health Law Award for Excellence. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with B.A. 

Since 2022, John has been selected for inclusion in the list of "Ones to Watch" by Best Lawyers in America.
