Employment Law Update: DOL Releases Notice for NJ Paid Sick Leave Law

10.22.2018

The New Jersey Department of Labor has released the notice for the New Jersey Earned Sick Leave Law. Employers should post the notice and distribute it to employees. The law provides that the notice should be distributed within 30 days of being issued by the Department of Labor; however, the notice itself provides that it should be distributed by November 29, 2018. Employers should conspicuously post the notice in a place or places accessible to all employees in each of the employer's workplaces. With respect to electronic posting and distribution, the law’s proposed regulations provide that: (1) the notice may be electronically posted on the employer’s internal internet site or intranet site provided that all employees have access to same and (2) the notice may be provided to employees via email. The notice can be found at https://www.state.nj.us/labor/forms_pdfs/mw565sickleaveposter.pdf
