RLUIPA: A Powerful Federal Law Available to Religious Entities as They Seek Local Land Use Approval to Construct or Expand a Religious Facility

Wilentz Shareholder Donna M. Jennings and law clerk Sarah Kennelly co-authored an article, featured in the August issue of New Jersey Lawyer, to examine the land use provisions provided by the Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act (RLUIPA). Ms. Jennings and Ms. Kennelly examine the protections granted to houses of worship and other religious institutions from discrimination in zoning and land use laws.
