Michael Schaff will give the opening remarks and act as the moderator at the Surgery Center Coalition (SCC)’s 6th annual “A Day of Compliance, for ASCs” conference. Grace Mack will discuss the Surprise Bill Law signed on June 1, 2018, during a presentation entitled “New Jersey Out-of-Network Consumer Protection, Transparency, Cost Containment and Accountability Act.” Maureen Binetti and Tracy Armstrong will discuss the recent changes in employment law, including the new Paid Sick Leave Act and the new Equal Pay Act as well as employment law pitfalls during a presentation entitled “No Good Deed Goes Unpunished: When Bad Things Happen to Good Employers.”
Targeted to one room surgical practices transitioning to become licensed as Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASCs), the conference will provide an overview on how to comply with current standards, procedures, policies and regulations regarding pain management and anesthesia, pharmacy regulations, infection prevention, and surgical instrument reprocessing.
In addition, the conference will feature a presentation from the New Jersey Department of Health on the requirements for licensed centers to report healthcare-associated infections data to the National Healthcare Safety Network and on the Patient Safety Reporting System.
